GRAMMY-nominated and Dove Award winning worship leader, pastor and author, William McDowell, received his first “Billboard Music Award” nomination today for “Top Gospel Album” for his live album, The Cry (Integrity Music). This album earned McDowell’s fifth No. 1 debut album in his storied career on Billboard’s Top Gospel Albums’ chart. The “2020 Billboard Music Awards” will broadcast live from The Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Wednesday, Oct. 14 at 8 p.m. ET on NBC. “Billboard Music Awards” nominees and winners are based on key fan interactions with music, including album and digital song sales, streaming, radio airplay, touring and social engagement, tracked by Billboard and its data partners, including MRC Data/Nielsen Music.

McDowell‘s album has also been nominated for a 2020 GMA Dove Award for “Gospel Worship Album of the Year,” and the song from the album, “Only You Can Satisfy (Live),” for “Gospel Recorded Song of the Year.” The Dove Awards will air on TBN on Friday, October 30th.

Lauren Daigle Nominated For Two Billboard Music Awards

Two-time GRAMMY Award winner and multi-platinum recording artist Lauren Daigle has been nominated for two Billboard Music Awards – Top Christian Artist and Top Christian Song – “Rescue.” The “2020 Billboard Music Awards” is set to air on NBC and will broadcast live Wednesday, Oct. 14 at 8:00 P.M. EST.

This exciting news comes on the heels of Daigle‘s cross-over mega-hit “You Say” reaching a truly historic milestone that is making a splash across the industry. Billboard certified earlier this month that “You Say” has ruled at No. 1 on the Hot Christian Songs chart for 100 weeks. “You Say” made chart history back in October 2019 when it passed Hillsong UNITED‘s “Oceans (Where Feet May Fail” as the longest-running No. 1 song on Hot Christian Songs at 62 weeks. This charting lands “You Say” as the first song across any genre to claim the No.1 spot on one of Billboard’s Hot charts for 100 weeks. The Billboard Hot charts blend streaming, airplay and sales data according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data.
